Piedmont Village is an adult assisted living facility in Yadkinville. But most of the residents are not elderly. They are men and women, mostly aged 30-50, who have had very difficult lives, and who are now "the forgotten" of our society.
Each week on Wednesdays from 3-5pm, we hold a Bible study and prayer time with the residents in the dining room at Piedmont Village. After the Bible study, we just walk around and listen to folks, and sometimes (well, actually most of the time) we pray with them. You see, unlike a big chunk of our culture, they know they need God's grace, and they're really glad to hear He is still listening.

Here's a quick story. Tiffany (not her real name) was abused in many ways as a child and teenager. Then she made lots of bad decisions herself. She knows a lot about the Bible, and knows that Jesus is her Savior. As we began to pray one day, she said, "I just want to pray that I'll believe this gospel more!" I looked her in the eyes and began to "gospel" her, telling her how she was loved, forgiven, and accepted by God through the life and death of Jesus, and how she was His daughter, and nothing could take her out of the family. She broke into tears and walked around the table to hug me. She was trembling as she said, "I just never realized all that was for me!"
Like to join us? Just show up at 3pm on any Wednesday. Like more information? Call Mark Brown at (336) 426-8771, or email at redeemeryv@gmail.com.
