God becomes a human being in order to understand personally what its like to be us.

Jesus understands our...
    -weakness
    -suffering
    -fear
    -temptation
    -sin (having become sin for us on the Cross...2 Corin. 5:21)

Knowing he understands leads us to pray boldly (Heb 4:16)
    -because he understands, we can tell/ask him anything
