Sticky Note:  God and Sinners Reconciled

Though God would have been Just to respond to our sin by giving us wrath, the curse, death, and hell, God became a person to suffer His OWN penalty for sin, TAKING the wrath, curse, death, and hell we should have paid!

To be reconciled to God, a person needs a penalty paid and a perfect obedience.  Jesus accomplished BOTH.  We couldn't pay our own penalty, and we couldn't obey God perfectly.  By faith, a person gets credit for Jesus' perfect obedience, and Jesus gets credit for that person's sin, which He bore on the Cross.

Therefore, BEING reconciled, we...
    -rejoice whole-heartedly (Romans 5:11)
    -worship freely (Rev. 1:5)
    -pray boldly (Hebrews 4:15-16)
    -give ourselves completely (Romans 12:1)

...even as we struggle with the day-to-day.
