Sticky Note:  God is my helper

God makes Adam a helper that perfectly corresponds to him, and is strong where he is weak.  But he needs another Helper...the Helper from heaven, who is also their Savior and Bridegroom.

The Church is born out of the wounded side of Jesus, as Eve was born out of Adam's wounded side.

Our ultimate need for love and respect is met by our heavenly Bridegroom, so we can be set free from demanding love and respect from our spouses.  Maybe that means our spouses are then set free, too.
