Sticky Note:  Who's in the boat with you?  Jesus is in the boat with you.

Jesus cares.  WHY DOES IT MATTER IF WE REALLY BELIEVE THAT OR NOT?      Because if we don't really believe Jesus cares for us, then we won't trust him.  And if we don't trust HIM, we will put our trust in SOMETHING (ourselves, someone/something else) to save us when our boat is rocking.  Trusting in a saviour besides Jesus is the root of every other sin, and the only sin that will keep us out of heaven.

In desperate situations (unlike when things are "calm") our hearts are exposed.  Then we find out what we REALLY are trusting in.  

So we repent of our unbelief, our un-trust.  Whoever trusts in Him, will never perish.
