Sticky Note:  Faith Family

God, in Jesus Christ, came to restore the broken family.  

As believers in Jesus, we have a new family...better than our blood relatives.  God is our Father, Jesus is our Brother.  Our fellow Christians are our REAL brothers and sisters.

Other musings...

-Jesus said, "Those who do the will of God are my REAL family."  He also said, "This is the work/will of God, that you believe on the One He has sent."  As we surrender to Jesus, trusting our souls and bodies to him, we are doing the will of God.  We are putting our faith in the One who has done the will of God perfectly.  And God accepts substitute Righteousness.  That's good news!

-As we continually put our faith in Jesus and rest in him, the Holy Spirit changes us, so that we actually things that please God...from the heart, as his sons and daughters.

-Jesus' blood family came to take charge of him.  Jesus' REAL family are those whom JESUS takes charge of.  They surrender to him, not vice-versa.

-Is someone in your family slow to understand who Jesus is, or slow to surrender to him?  Jesus knows how that feels.  His own family was slow to believe and surrender.  But they DID eventually surrender.  They met him after he rose from the dead!  The resurrected Jesus will meet our families, too!
