Sticky Note:  Jesus was punished for me, so I WILL not punish myself

Self-punishment (beating ourselves up) is totally inappropriate for Christians.  Why?
    -because the Bridegroom has come to take the punishment we deserve
    -because our relationship with Him is like a wedding feast (joy, not affliction)
    -because we are the Bride He has come for

Grace changes our religious practices
    -we do NOT pray, read the Bible, or come to church in order for God to accept us
        -that is adding to Jesus' sacrificial death and perfect life
        -it is saying, "what Jesus did isn't enough"
    -instead, we do these things in order to draw nearer to our Bridegroom who HAS accepted us


"I have come so that my joy will be in you, and that your joy may overflow!"  (John 15:11)
