Sticky Note:  We are known for the price paid for us

The comprehension of our forgiven-ness by God determines our forgiveness of others

Sin incurs a debt.  To forgive someone is to pay that debt yourself, setting the other person free, with no strings attached.  But what resources do we have to pay these debts owed to us?

Surprise!!  The gospel!  We are big debtors to God.  But we are no longer known for the magnitude of the debt we owe, but for the magnitude of the price paid for us.  The Son of the King has come to ransom us completely, forever.  As we grasp this, or rather, as the Spirit impresses it on our innermost beings, we find a new freedom to let people go, to set them free, to pay their debt out of the riches Christ has placed in our account.
