Sticky Note: We are children in the lap of the Father

Renewal (and all of God's gifts) flow out of our ongoing relationship with God.  That relationship is always initiated by God, and is cultivated as we get a regular view of who God is and of the magnitude of his grace toward us.

Jesus is the glorious God
    -the Word, speaking from God to us, and to God for us
    -the pre-existent God of the universe
    -the Creator of everything
    -the Author of life and light

We believe in him by his glorious grace
    -our new birth is initiated by God himself, not anything in us
    -we are re-born into God's family

We enjoy a glorious position
    -Jesus himself is in the lap of the Father
    -as children of God, that is where WE are, too (no matter what position we SEEM to be in)

Assignment:  Spend some time alone each day this week meditating on this and thanking God for it.
