Genesis 4:8-16 Shocking Sin, Shocking Mercy

  • Speaker: Mark Brown
  • Date: Monday, December 06, 2010
  • Series: Genesis

Sticky Note:  God's mercy for me is shocking!

The blood of Abel cries out to God for justice and vengeance.  It is shocking that God doesn't give Cain what he deserves.  Instead, He gives Cain a mark of protection from the cry of justice and vengeance.

The blood of Jesus is the mark placed on us as believers, crying out, "Grace!  Mercy!  Forgiveness!!", protecting us forever from what our sins deserve.

Cain's response to God's mercy was to leave God's presence and to go build a life without God. How will WE respond to God's mercy today?
